To This Day: For the Bullied and Beautiful

To This Day is a wonderfully illustrated poem of the strength that is inside you despite the bullying; that bullying is all too real and can lead to many more problems for the victims.  I want to share some pics of the fantastic lines and emotion-filled drawings.  The ARC was a PDF so I just took pics with my phone, which is why they are kind of weird. :-)

Close up of the words on the page in above picture.

"...but the school halls were a battleground
where we found ourselves outnumbered
day after wretched day"

We all need to make an effort to look out for the warning signs of being bullied and be nicer to each other - even as adults you can be bullied by other adults. You don't have the right job, the more expensive car, the nicer house, the greener lawn, the most athletic tennis game, the kids great at everything. We need to accept our differences and embrace them rather than picking on each other to make ourselves feel better. Bullying is a sign of low self-esteem, yet those who get bullied are the ones whose self-esteem suffers the most. If we reach out to the bullies as well as those who are bullied, it could make a bigger difference than we think.

I recommend this book for both the bullies and the bullied and everyone in between!
