Letters of Note shares a note from Silent Spring author and environmental pioneer Rachel Carson to her friend only months before she died of cancer, after they watched the migration of monarch butterflies.

The collapse of the western Antarctica ice sheet is under way according to new studies.  This, of course, prompted someone to ask "When the globe is hit with a 10 ft rise in sea level, which of our books will suddenly become fantastic?"

Walt Whitman's "Song of Myself" Brought to Life in Illustrations.  I read "Song of Myself" recently and this is way cool.
