Thursday Tea

Thursday Tea is hosted by Anastasia at Birdbrain(ed) Book Blog.

So here is how Thursday Tea works:

"To play along, all you need is some tea, a book, and the willingness to answer some very simple questions: What tea are you drinking (and do you like it)? What book are you reading (and do you like it)? Tell us a little about your tea and your book, and whether or not the two go together."

The Tea: The Republic of Tea's Vanilla Almond Black Tea. It has a distinctively sweet taste, almost like candy.

The Book: Finding Happiness: Monastic Steps for a Fulfilling Life by Abbot Christopher Jamison. This book was sent to me for review and so far I am enjoying it immensely. It is about finding fulfillment in your life, physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Jamison goes over the Seven Deadly Sins, and adds in an Eighth- Acedia, which is basically spiritual carelessness. Jamison's unique perspective as a monk results in a book that is unique in its revelations on happiness.

The Mix: I am reading the section on Gluttony right now while I indulge in Vanilla Almond Tea. Enough said.

  1. Perfect assessment of the mix. Too funny! That tea sounds heavenly.

  2. I am drinking a French Vanilla tea and reading Bad Traffic by Simon Lewis.

As the book is about a Chinese cop in London looking for his missing daughter, I would say no the tea and the book do not go together. I would think a black tea would be a better combination with the book and then a scone or two so it would fit with London

  3. Vanilla Almond tea sounds lovely. So does Finding Happiness.

  4. Sounds interesting.

Thanks for visiting my book blog.
