I saw this video on Megan's blog Posey Sessions and thought it wonderful enough to share:

  1. I don't at all mean this to sound pretentious...but this is what I have always known about art. I am a poet, and a writer of prose, and I have LOTS of friends who are poets. One of them, Mannie Hager, said "People don't choose to be poets. God chooses poets." And whether you are a poet or a painter or a dancer or a instrumentalist, I believe that to be true. We do our part, and as we know sometimes the work just isn't as good as we wanted it to be. But when it is good, better yet, when it's brilliant, it's because God ordained that it be so.

I will say, though, that while I am a theist (of the undefined variety), I also have a bizarre obsession with fairies and I would like to think of my daemon, my genius, my muse, as a fairy.

    Thank you for posting this.
